How about Sen. Sanders's tweet about a potential deal for Wall Street, a proposal offered to Hillary Clinton's aide Huma Abedin by Republican New Jersey congressman Steve Roth. Yes that deal sounds pretty good in its purest sense–Hillary as Fed chair and a possible Hillary to Bernie. And Hillary as someone who believes in the rule of law in some small part would also have been really exciting. That was at the top of John's initial assessment:

On the merits, it also smacks of panderers in advance. No actual facts on both matters yet- it could take weeks. They'd have to ask questions--and maybe the deal needs clarifications/adjustments from people other than Obama's appointee--or even ask Obama for clarification. The details of what Roth suggested are vague. It might sound interesting to make her take the job without doing much besides saying we're looking--but to keep the details so vague could only ever cause doubt.. The details will come after a little while. I guess the most troubling is that I know she wanted to be Hillary even without Sanders taking her (the way she was taken before him became that in his view.) Why this person who'd told Clinton to do just about everything on her own before was now looking down into some pretty big political position--I can't recall the exact time of his discussion so maybe one should just read an account he wrote a week ago and find it.. but something about this just says 'it'. On their other topic I really like Elizabeth Warren from what her staff describes when speaking now so the comparison might work just fine. If Hillary didn't endow the position so generously it might become an unimportant or only token role of prestige (of which it probably is in our society.
