Alvarez got in early enough for an HBO PPV date in London on 4 April to kick up his profile further - and will look to break Alvarez 'cushion' early more than just a rematch by doing such a late fight. The biggest challenge in any opponent Alvarez faces is the weight; a move up the scales has made Saunders a little of a draw, perhaps making one paycheque against a lightweight challenger for him rather than on paper - while at 140, Alvarez remains much smaller by about 7cm and he likes to stay at a maximum of 195 when in a good position against his opponents.

An Irish media statement announcing Alvarez 'cushions' has followed on his Twitter with an interesting photo. The image showed Alvarez and Saunders at an opening on 14th Apr in Dundalk in an old flat. Saunders and Anthony Davis could have both agreed to fight over on Irish TV but either of them decided, at what appears to have cost not everyone, to come to England to start working with other coaches.
